Enherya Medical Aesthetic Surgery Group responds to the government's New Southbound Policy by traveling overseas to participate in the "Malaysia Taiwan Image Exhibition," which returns to a physical format after a 3-year hiatus. The Chief Executive Officer, Zhong Jinyuan, is optimistic that the tourism medical industry will see significant growth after the borders reopen, especially with the increasing demand for surgeries such as breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and breast reduction. They offer a comprehensive service from online consultation and appointment to surgery, helping overseas guests enjoy customized medical aesthetic services while traveling to Taiwan.

The "2023 Malaysia Taiwan Image Exhibition" will be held from August 24 to 26 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with 170 Taiwanese companies participating. Kaohsiung, with its abundant tourism resources of mountains, seas, rivers, and ports, is an important gateway for the New Southbound Policy. Whether going south or coming from the south to the north, it is the first choice for Southeast Asian guests. Therefore, Enherya Medical Aesthetic Group, which originated in Kaohsiung, is actively planning to enter Malaysia in line with government support, reaching out to overseas markets.

Enherya's Chief Executive Officer, Zhong Jinyuan, pointed out that the technology and quality of most medical institutions in Taiwan are above standard. After enduring the pandemic, many foreign clients have recently chosen Taiwan as a destination for cosmetic surgery. According to statistics from the first half of this year, there has been an increase of at least 30%, with clients mainly from Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore. The top five surgical procedures are breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, breast reduction, liposuction, and rhinoplasty.

Zhong Jinyuan analyzed that the main reasons for choosing Taiwan are still because Taiwan has advantages such as proximity, strong English proficiency of doctors, good aesthetics, and effective communication skills. Enherya has locations in Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Tainan, and many clients choose to enter through Kaohsiung Airport. After the surgery, they can continue to travel north, returning to the Taipei clinic for a follow-up appointment in about 5-7 days before flying back to their own country. The reverse is also true, with such a flow allowing foreign clients to enjoy both beauty and tourism, and having three clinics available for follow-up care, resulting in a high level of satisfaction after the procedure.

Plastic surgeon Lin Liying stated that this time, in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Association's invitation, she represented Enherya Medical Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery Group to meet customers face-to-face in Malaysia. In addition to feeling that the local medical practices are relatively conservative and the urgent needs of more clients, she is also proud of Taiwan's plastic surgery technology.

She cited an example of a Malaysian handsome man who came for a consultation about breast reduction surgery. His chest, under the binding, had developed severe allergies and rashes due to the humid climate. Although he wanted to get rid of the binding for many years, there is very little information about breast reduction surgery in Malaysia, and very few doctors perform the procedure. The surgery and information are quite closed off, leaving him at a loss. Additionally, his family is against it, so he plans to travel to Taiwan next year, where the atmosphere is more open and breast reduction surgery is more proficient, to undergo the surgery.

Lin Liying lamented that this is really too different from Taiwan, where parents take their twin daughters by the hand to undergo breast reduction surgery with an open mindset. If the government could learn from South Korea and promote Taiwan's cosmetic medical services in a more systematic and efficient manner, medical tourism could significantly boost Taiwan's economy and create more job opportunities.
